Elspeth
Campbell MSc. Executive Coach
Professional Memberships: AC, AMED, IPD, BPS
I have twenty five years experience
as
an organisation and human resource development consultant.
I have worked within a wide range of industries including
finance, pharmaceuticals, education, public sector and
manufacturing. I gained
managerial experience in the London International Financial
Futures exchange (LIFFE) and in textile manufacturing in
South Africa. Enticed by cross cultural issues in my own
transition to professional life in Britain from Southern
Africa, I sought out assignments requiring sensitivity
to diversity in Europe and Africa while with Coopers & Lybrand
management consulting practice.
I am
a skilled communicator with a deep understanding of human
issues, qualified in psychology and in the use of psychometrically
developed tests and questionnaires. I am an accredited
executive coach with the Association for Coaching AC and
act as manager of Co-coaching Forums on behalf of the AC.
Also a member of AMED and on the BPS register for psychological
testing.
I have
experience in coaching senior managers and directors, helping
them achieve tangible outcomes for both themselves and
the organisations they work for, and in developing managers’ ability
to coach their staff. I co-run a Systemic Organisational
Practice foundation programme for managers, HR/OD
consultants and coaches, and regularly delegates from this
programme refer themselves to me for supervision. They
become highly attuned reflective practitioners able to
have an eye on their own dynamic, the dynamic of the people
they are working with and the pattern connecting these
dynamics.
As a systemic
executive coach my approach is to facilitate changes in
behaviours as shown in the way people act, think, speak
and, in particular, articulate their emotions. This sometimes
takes the form of unravelling stuck patterns they are unknowingly
and uncomfortably looping around. Through building a systemic
understanding of their roles, obligations and aspirations,
clients become free to strive to connect the personal and
the professional in a way that is authentic for them. Then
they can define for themselves excellence in performance
and achieve it. When excellence emerges I notice coherence
between their competencies, their values and the context
in which they are working.
I am
interested in managers’ resourcefulness in influencing
transformational change and urge them to notice subtle
changes as precious and these we celebrate. This involves
working with people’s use of language and creation
of imagery through metaphor.
I am
a committed yogi and love breathing in cool air while hiking
in mountainous areas. Nurturing my two children through
extensive reading at bedtime and discussions about the
world we meet through good literature and theatre, is a
source of deep joy and inspiration to me. |
